The Pre-Advent Clergy retreat is a silent retreat with daily addresses. It begins with Supper on Monday 16th November, with arrivals any time from 3 pm to settle in. Evensong is at 6 pm and Supper is at 6.45 pm. The retreat ends after breakfast on Friday 20th November.
In this year’s Retreat, ‘With the Spirit and Power of Elijah,’ we will be considering the fiery character of Elijah. We will reflect on this demanding and conflicted character in all his triumph and doubt; in the extraordinary encounters he has with the divine; and in his miraculous confrontations with life and death. What might Elijah’s prophetic witness have to say to us today as we reflect upon our own vocation and sense of call?
