The College is pleased to be welcoming three new members of staff as the new academic year begins. Each of them brings a wealth of academic and pastoral experience but each is also returning to Mirfield with their own personal slice of its heritage.
The Revd Dr Steffan Mathias, is a former student of the College, and returns to us as Tutor in Biblical Studies and Academic Dean. He comes to us from Streatham where he has been a parish priest but also an Assistant DDO and contributor to the ministerial development of clergy in the Diocese of Southwark. Fr Steffan has also been teaching Old Testament theology at the College and on-line over the past few years.

The Revd Dr Ryan Green, who trained at St Stephen’s House, Oxford, was, until recently a Novice member of CR. Prior to that he was DDO for the Diocese of Llandaff. He has parish experience gained both in Australia and more recently in Brighton & Hove. We are pleased to welcome Fr Ryan into his new Mirfield role as Dean of Pastoral Studies.

Also returning to Mirfield, is former Student, The Revd Jemma Sander-Heys. Jemma is the new parish priest at Christ The King, for 70% of her time, and a tutor in Theology at the College for 30%. In addition to parish ministry in the Diocese of Leeds, Jemma has been working on her PhD, focusing on the theology of Rowan Williams.

We are looking forward to working with them and to their contributions to the life of the College.
Student numbers are going up again in the next academic year. At the moment they are set to be 24, compared with 19 last year.
