Invitation to CR Library Open Day with Cream Tea – open to all.
Tuesday 3rd October, 2pm – 4.30pm
Have you ever seen a monastic library? Our library is a wondrously diverse collection of books occupying rooms on each floor of the house. With over 60,000 volumes, we cover many subject areas as well as theology. The afternoon will begin with the Library Brother providing an introduction to the importance of a monastic library to the community. This will be followed by an informative tour of the library rooms by the Librarian, with many surprises! We have many volunteers helping in the Library and there will be volunteers present who will talk about their work. There will be an opportunity to meet brethren and volunteers while enjoying a cream tea (scones, cream and jam). In addition, the grounds and church will be open to explore.
Access information: The library is on the ground and first floor of the building and can only be accessed using stairs.
Booking Information: This event is free to Sponsor-A-Shelf subscribers. It is also open to non-Sponsor-A-Shelf subscribers for a fee of £5.00. If you would like to join us on this day, please book a place with Barbara Clarke and include dietary requirements by 22nd September.
