A patchwork coat full of emotion will be on display in Mirfield on CR Festival Day, Saturday 6 July 2024.
The Coat of Hopes is an extraordinary community-created patchwork coat made up of over 600 blanket patches. The project is led by artist Barbara Keal, and the coat is on display at Bradford Cathedral until 29 June. The Community are delighted to announce that the coat will be on display for its annual Festival Day celebration on Saturday 6 July 2024.
The Coat of Hopes is a precious patchwork garment on a long term pilgrimage through the UK, made by, worn and walked by more than 2000 people, for a distance of over 1000 miles, carrying their hopes in the face of climate and ecological breakdown. The Coat will be staying with the Community (en route from York to Norwich) during Festival Day and will be on display for anyone who wishes to look at it, and hear its song.
