We live together as brothers in Christ, rooted in the Anglican tradition and formed in the monastic round of prayer, worship and ministry. We welcome others to come, see, learn and share. https://mirfield.org.uk/update-regarding-coronavirus-covid-19/

CSMV & CR Joint Retreat (Wantage)

August 4, 2017 by

Praying in God’s Creation

CR has longstanding links with the Community of St Mary the Virgin, Wantage. In 2018 we are holding two joint retreats, one at Mirfield with Sr Elizabeth Jane CSMV and Br Philip CR and one at Wantage with Sr Stella CSMV and Br Jacob CR.

This retreat is at Wantage.

We are created by God for love, and to enjoy the gifts in creation that God has made. Our primary relationship is with God, the author of life and creation. Relationships are a natural thing, so they need to be nurtured and have time to grow.

We live in a world that we have made busy with the activities of work and daily life. God can get pushed aside and the gifts of creation used as a means to survive the hustle and bustle of daily life. This is not good because these precious gifts of God will struggle to develop if they are competing with other more boisterous activities. But does it have to be this way?

During this retreat we will reflect together on various approaches to prayer, and ponder the rhythms of life and the attitudes that have inspired others to grow spiritually in God’s creation.

Led by Sr Stella CSMV and Br Jacob CR

The cost for this retreat is £140

Visit or Stay

We welcome you to come to CR and to share in our life. Some come regularly to talk with a brother, others spend a day or two experiencing this very different environment. Individuals and groups come on retreat and pilgrimage, share in the teaching and courses we offer and join us in worship and meals.
